This is the Porsche B32. Never heard of it? That’s because only 15 examples were ever made (including prototypes) between 1983 and 1985. The reason for the van’s conception was because Porsche needed a fast enough support vehicle to keep pace during its Paris to Dakar rally campaign with its Group B 959 race car. In the van’s rear, Porsche transplanted its 3.2-litre flat-six engine (231hp) from a 911 Carrera; the result was a top speed of around 130mph and a 0-62mph time of 8.0 seconds. Along with the engine swap, Porsche also fitted the van with Fuchs wheels and bigger Porsche brakes, and upgraded the suspension components to cope with the substantial hike in grunt; the most powerful production model at the time was a 2.1-litre model with 112hp.

All aboard the new family train! 850 horsepower is what powers this Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate which has been modified by Brabus. Brabus introduced us to this car in 2013 at the Essen Motor Show and they have truly put together one mean machine. This Brabus 850 V8 BiTurbo Estate is powered by a 5.5L V8 BiTurbo engine which has been upgraded from 585 hp to 850 hp, however, Brabus managed to get 1450 Nm of torque out of this engine, but to save the engine they have limited the torque at 1150 Nm. Besides the engine they have adjusted more and more things to keep this car together, but eventually they managed to present a pretty epic beast for a family car.
To avoid that the car would continuously be in a spin, this Brabus has been supplied with the 4-Matic system which allows to car to hit the 60 mph in just 3,1 seconds. According to Brabus, the car has been limited, but not at the regular 156 m/ph but at 218 m/ph (350 km/ph). So most of Brabus their work is underneath the bonnet, at the exterior, they haven’t really changed anything dramatically. Some few carbon bits and pieces at the front and the back, badges, Brabus rims, Brabus brake calipers and the proper carbon diffuser at the back with a fitted exhaust.
The car is for sale, located at Thijs Timmermans in Waardenburg, The Netherlands. For the regular Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Estate you already need to pay £130.000 (€166.000), but for this Brabus 850 Estate, you need to pay around the £258.000 (€329.850). It might be a bit expensive, but at least your children will be at school on time!
